A Brief History of Those Who Leave
A gripping nine-word addictive game that has already conquered all who have delved into it.
WORDS is not a love story. It is a story of heartbreak where we not only know the beginning, but also, and above all, the end. What the characters in a film or book do not tell you when the word THE END appears on the screen.
When Emma believes she has the perfect life she has always dreamed of, Diego, the love of her life with whom she is about to get married, leaves her for another. He packs his bags and leaves, as if Emma's feelings were worth nothing. Months later, still devastated and unable to see a way out of her deep sorrow, Emma decides to visit Silvia, a renowned psychologist in Barcelona with unconventional methods.
Our protagonist needs to start living again and, above all, regain trust in herself. Silvia proposes a game of nine words. Each word will be part of the story between Emma and Diego. Each word will make Emma open her eyes and understand that her relationship was not the fairy tale she believed, nor was Diego the perfect man she saw. Each of these nine words will be key to our protagonist seeing that there is life beyond a breakup and that destiny can surprise us.
The game begins, and with each word, Emma's perspective changes. The first word, "Expectations," makes her realize that she had built up an idealized image of Diego and their relationship, blinding her to the reality. The second word, "Communication," highlights the lack of honest dialogue between them, leading to misunderstandings.
"Compromise" is the third word, revealing that Emma had sacrificed too much of herself to maintain the relationship, while Diego was unwilling to do the same. "Passion" follows, reminding Emma of the initial spark that had faded, leaving her wondering if she had ever truly known the man she loved.
"Trust" is the fifth word, shattering the foundation of their relationship as Emma comes to terms with Diego's betrayal. "Honesty" is next, making her realize the deception that had been present all along.
The sixth word, "Growth," forces Emma to confront the fact that she and Diego had grown apart, their paths diverging instead of aligning. "Priorities" is the seventh word, exposing the differences in what they valued most in life.
"Acceptance" is the penultimate word, guiding Emma towards acknowledging the end of her relationship and the need to move on. Finally, the last word, "Resilience," empowers Emma to embrace a future where she can rediscover her own strength and self-worth.
Through this transformative journey of nine words, Emma learns to let go of the past, embrace the present, and look forward to a future where she can find happiness and fulfillment, not just for herself, but for the person she was always meant to be.
