It is never known what else may happen in Redes (A Coruña) that would require us to return... WOUNDED SOULS KNOW HOW TO RECOGNIZE EACH OTHER
Zoe and Mario travel to the coastal town of Redes, A Coruña, with the intention of spending a romantic week of disconnection and healing their wounds. Or at least that is what Zoe believes. She still has the hope of recovering what they once were after the accident that marked their lives, but Mario appears more indifferent and distant, until a few hours after arriving in Redes, he disappears without a trace.
Yago, the police officer we met in Greta's Hideout, has no choice but to learn to live with the heavy burden of absences. One ordinary morning, his path crosses with Zoe's, feeling an immediate connection to her, but often, nothing is as it seems, and no one is who they claim to be.
The situation does not take more than twenty-four hours to become strained after the first encounter between Yago and Zoe, when the body of Santi, the town's mechanic, is found on the beach with his arms mutilated. The controversial inspector Ana Valdetierra will arrive there, who must battle against her feelings for Yago and the past that binds them, while the deaths multiply before her eyes at the speed of lightning.
Redes in the eye of the hurricane. Four victims. The same tattoo. And a revealing message. Characters pushed to the limit. And a truth that hurts more than life itself.
After the success of Greta's Hideout, a finalist in the 2022 Amazon Storyteller Literary Award, Lorena Franco returns to the same setting that introduced us to Greta, Diego, Elsa, Leo... and to Yago, the Local Police of Redes, who now, along with Celso, the endearing bookseller, are the protagonists of the short novel, Darkness Will Come, an addictive rural psychological thriller noir that reads without stopping.
